Jeff was raised in the middle classes of Toronto, Canada. Through his years in high school, Jeff would find a great passion for video production, sometimes even convincing teachers to let him create a short film instead of write an essay. He wasn’t the most academic of children, as he would go through school with charisma and determination that teachers loved, but with grades his parents didn’t. Despite his flare for film, Jeff would go in a different direction, leaving high school early and training to be a classical chef. He would go on to work in some of the most prestigious restaurants in Toronto, teach live cooking courses for the LCBO, open a catering company and even write a cookbook. It wasn’t until 2003 that his future in film and television would begin to take shape.
Jeff would get cast by Food Network Canada as the featured chef for a new television series titled “Look Who’s Cooking Now”, a cooking show that would never see the light of day. After that, Jeff decided to take matters into his own hands and Create, Produce, Write and Star in a web-based life-style show called “Toronto Bites”.
After “Toronto Bites”, Jeff and his brother took a trip to Ireland and shot a video journal, which would end up evolving into their acclaimed feature length documentary “Roots of a Man”. Made for just $2500 “Roots of a Man” would garner the brothers their first foray of press, official selections into International, Oscar Feeding film festivals and invitations to other festivals to host workshops on no-budget filmmaking.
In late 2005, Jeff and Matthew would begin work on their next project; a feature length western titled “Six Reasons Why”. The film would turn into a labour of love, taking three years and costing Jeff his life’s savings. “Six Reasons Why” was purchased, by way of bidding war, by THINKFilm in the fall of 2007.
Recently, a music video Jeff directed for over-seas sensation “Klooch” rose to #9 on the MTV Rock Charts in Europe. Jeff has gone on to direct many other music videos and is an active and sought after screenwriter, director and producer. He is also the co-founder of the Mississauga Independent Film Festival.
